Mars Drinks braves the elements and sleeps out for charity

Three dedicated Mars Drinks associates joined nearly 400 sponsored sleepers taking part in The Big Sleep Out at Winchester Cathedral on Friday (May 15). The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the plight of the homeless.
Members of the Mars Volunteer Programme (MVP) joined forces to raise money for two worthy charities that provide services for people experiencing the effects of homelessness – the Winchester Churches Nightshelter and Trinity Winchester.
As part of its fundraising efforts, the Mars Drinks team helped keep the hundreds of volunteers warm and refreshed with a selection of hot drinks served from the FLAVIA ‘Tuk Tuk’. At midnight the team settled down for a night under the stars with the other volunteers using only cardboard boxes for bedding.
But it was up bright and early at 5:30am to start serving the volunteers with some more much needed FLAVIA hot drinks from the Tuk Tuk.
The event made the whole team really appreciate what they have at home and a greater understanding of homelessness. And they were delighted to find out that despite the cold and rain, the Mars Drinks team raised over £400 for the two charities.
