Money isn’t the only way to motivate staff

The Times recently offered managers a top ten guide to motivating staff in a recession. We thought we’d share our view of the top five.
1. ‘Showing that you value them’ – this is number one on the list and we couldn’t agree more. What better way to do this than to make sure they can enjoy a refreshing and tasty hot drink whenever they want throughout the day. The FLAVIA team has invested considerable time into researching what employees want during their working day and we are focused on ensuring we exceed their expectations.
2. ‘Know what makes people tick’ - with over 25 years of experience and innovation, we know what people want and provide a varied choice of fresh great tasting drinks to meet those needs.
3. ‘Show your face’ – the importance of being accessible and visible in the workplace should be a must for managers. The article suggests having lunch in the canteen, but what could be better than getting a round of hot drinks in for the team? Research by the UK Tea Council revealed 79% of people feel tea makers display top management skills and FLAVIA ensures you present a great cup of tea quickly and easily every time.
4. ‘Spend soberly’ – is sensible advice in the current economic climate, but smaller incentives go a long way. Providing your team with refreshing drinks in the workplace is cost-effective and can really boost morale.
5. ‘Empower staff’ - another key message in the top five and one we support 100%. FLAVIA machines are designed with ease of use and choice in mind. The machines display straightforward instructions to help everyone get their drink quickly and without any hassle. And with the wide range of drink choices - coffee, tea, specialities and chocolate drinks - there is something for everyone at any time of day.
